Tools
SPIDI recommends the following instruments: the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and Next4Diversity. We use these tools for development in the fields of intercultural competence and diversity management.
● The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is an assessment instrument and process used to establish a person’s attitude towards cultural differences. The theoretical basis for this indicator of intercultural development (established by Milton J. Bennett and Mitchell R. Hammer) is the developmental model of intercultural sensitivity, which proposes six development stages in the awareness of and attitude towards cultural differences.
● Next4Diversity is a developmental instrument for the high performance of individual team members or multicultural teams. This tool, developed by SPIDI and the Solution Management Center, measures the relevant dimensions for successful cooperation and reliably includes potential for improvement in the analysis.

Employees spend 10 minutes answering an IT-assisted questionnaire asking them to assess their workplace situation in terms of cultural acceptance, the flow of information, productive use of cultural differences, etc. We analyse the results and identify any potential for optimisation. Together with the individual employees, we work out specific steps. What works well is kept, what can be done better is improved.
Would you like to use these tools in your processes? We will gladly assist you in their implementation.
