Our fine print, or everything you should know...
...when booking an in-company course or individual instruction with us:
INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION...
...where individual participants from different companies and different lines of business come together to learn.
Registration
Registrations can be accepted by e-mail, using our online registration form (www.spidi.at), by fax or by phone. Your registration is complete as soon as you receive a confirmation message from us.
The minimum number of participants for SPIDI courses is
- 3 for small groups
- 3 for business language courses, office communication courses and
- summer (intensive) courses
- 4 for Cambridge courses.
For organisational reasons, we reserve the right to change the course location, times and trainer or to cancel a course at any time. Participants will be informed by phone or e-mail of any changes or cancellations and of possible alternatives.
Course Location
All individual instruction takes place at SPIDI, Franz-Josefs-Kai 27, A-1010 Vienna.
IN-COMPANY COURSES...
...are custom-designed and tailored to the needs of the individual client. The client can determine the location, extent and content of the course.
Your Investment
The price for language courses includes the written and oral evaluation of all participants, grouping according to level of language proficiency, course design (including concept and organisation), the necessary course material (notes, photocopies, etc.), participant certificate and analysis of feedback questionnaires.
Travel and Lodging Costs for Trainers
If our trainers have to travel to language courses outside of Vienna or the state capitals, travel costs are charged at the official rate per kilometre from the city limits. For intensive seminars, the client also assumes the cost of lodging and board for trainers for the duration of the intensive seminar and for one day before the seminar if the distance to the seminar location is more than 50 km from the Vienna city limits.
Weekend and Holiday Supplement
Upon request, we also offer our language courses on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for a supplement of 25 % of the trainer’s daily rate or the pro-rata course price.
THE FOLLOWING APPLIES FOR ALL SPIDI COURSES...
Copyright
You may copy everything provided it is for your personal use as learner (i.e. not for commercial purposes as trainer). The instructional material provided by us as part of a language course or seminar is and shall remain the intellectual property of SPIDI and is available exclusively for the personal use of course participants. No other copying, distribution or use – including in-company – is permitted except with our prior written consent.
Our “Vow of Silence”
We work for different companies which often compete with one another. Our trainers and account managers are sworn to absolute secrecy regarding both company and personal information.
Course Fees and Terms of Payment
Good people expect to be paid quickly – and that includes our trainers. You are invoiced as soon as a course starts and are payable (within 8 days) upon receipt without any deductions! Default payments are subject to all applicable legal and collection fees on top of the 12 % default interest payment.
Our prices do not include the applicable Austrian VAT.
Vouchers are valid only if no other discount or rebate is used. Only one voucher may be redeemed per participant.
Our course prices include all course material, but no books. Please also note that the costs for (sightseeing) tours, admission prices, outings and excursions, examinations, etc. are not included in our course prices.
CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
Nobody likes to cancel. Having to cancel is just as uncomfortable for you as client or participant as it is for us.
We ask for your understanding that changes and cancellations which are made after a course has been booked or after written confirmation has been sent (regardless of the reasons for your cancellation) will result in charges for you in the following cases:
Cancellation of SPIDI Individual Instruction
For SPIDI individual instruction, cancellations may be made free of charge up to one week before the start of the course. After this date, an administrative fee of € 100 will be charged. Cancellations are no longer possible after the first day of instruction, i.e. 100 % of the course fee will be charged.
For intensive seminars, if you are unable to find a replacement person, cancellations may be made free of charge up to 2 weeks before the beginning of the seminar. One week (5 working days) before the beginning of the seminar, we will charge 50 % of the seminar costs. 3 days before the seminar begins, we will charge the full cost of the seminar.
No refund of the course fee or extension of the course or seminar is possible if you do not attend the course or seminar or if your attendance is irregular.
Cancellation of SPIDI In-Company Courses
For cancellations of in-company courses less than 2 weeks before the course start date, we charge 50 % of the costs. The full cost is charged for cancellations made 3 days before the course starts.
We ask for your understanding that we can only accept cancellations of courses or seminars in writing.
Changes of Individual SPIDI Classes
For courses which have already begun, we are flexible regarding changes and cancellations. You may cancel an individual class free of charge up to 24 hours before the class (by 12:00 noon on Friday for classes taking place the following Monday). Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will result in the forfeit of the class session. Classes cancelled in time can be repeated by arrangement with SPIDI or the individual trainer.
GUARANTEE AND LIABILITY
You must inform us of any problems and demand remedy immediately to ensure proper settlement of your claims.
Course participants are liable for any loss or damage themselves unless we act with gross negligence. You are not insured against accident or illness with us. Participation in outings and excursions is also at own risk and we accept no responsibility or liability. We recommend that you take out separate travel, health and accident insurance. We also do not accept liability for the loss of your personal belongings or valuables.
The following must also be said: please note that participants who act contrary to the contract terms or who disrupt a course may be excluded from the course programme without compensation or refund of the course fee or cost of accommodation.
We do not accept liability for lost profit or other financial damages. If we negligently fail to meet our contractual obligations, the obligation to pay compensation for property damage or personal injury is limited to the typical foreseeable damage, injury or loss. No other claims – for whatever legal reasons – will be considered; this also applies to the personal liability of our trainers.
Privacy
We treat your booking, payment and course information with the utmost of discretion and confidentiality. When registering for a course, you explicitly agree that we may process, store and use your information (as defined in the Austrian Data Protection Act).
Force Majeure
Any change or cancellation of a course resulting from force majeure; technical problems, delays or cancellations of transport; official injunctions or court orders, strikes, civil unrest or other unforeseen factors outside of our control do not constitute grounds for a refund.
Court of Jurisdiction
We won’t need a judge, but if we do, then in Vienna.
For any disputes which cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, the designated court of jurisdiction is the appropriate competent court in Vienna.
…all of this becomes applicable when you book with us.
When booking a course with us, you agree to comply with these general terms and conditions unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
...should you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to call us at +43-1-236 17 17-0!
